Charles Sasser

Charles Sasser is a highly accomplished individual with a remarkable career spanning three decades in the United States Army. He participated in numerous combat deployments across the globe. Throughout his military career, Charles served in various challenging and critical positions. From the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia and Panama, Charles is a seasoned veteran. His Army career reached its pinnacle when he achieved the esteemed rank of Command Sergeant Major (CSM) for the renowned 1st Infantry Division, the Big Red One. Furthermore, Charles served as the Combined Joint Task Force / Regional Command East CSM, where he played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of joint operations in Afghanistan.

 

After retiring from the Army in 2014, Charles transitioned into the field of Defense Contracting, where he continued to contribute his expertise and skills. Throughout his post-military career, he predominantly focused on training and instructing both American and foreign military forces through programs established by the State Department. With a profound background in military training and development, Charles became a valuable asset in leadership development, institutional education, and operational support for the US, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq and Nigeria to name a few.

 

During this period, Charles also embarked on a diverse array of roles, showcasing his versatility and adaptability. He worked as a Protective Security Specialist at the US Consulate in Kurdish Iraq, responsible for coordinating protective operations, assessing threatening situations, and deploying quick reaction teams. His certifications in firearms training, compound defense, explosives countermeasures, and personal protection demonstrated his comprehensive understanding of security measures and risk mitigation.

 

Furthermore, Charles ventured into the realm of strategy and operations consulting, leveraging his extensive military experience to provide valuable insights and guidance. His expertise in senior managerial and leadership roles allowed him to oversee operations, manage personnel, and implement programs with utmost efficiency.

 

Charles's commitment to personal growth and professional development was evident in his graduation from the prestigious National Defense University Keystone Course. This esteemed program targeted Command Senior Enlisted Leaders (CSELs) who are assigned to serve in General or Flag Officer level joint headquarters or Service headquarters assigned as a joint task force. Through the Keystone Course, Charles gained valuable knowledge and had the opportunity to visit many high-level agencies, the DJS J7 Joint Coalition Warfighting Joint Operation Module (JOM) in Suffolk, VA, as well as several Combatant Commands and Joint Task Forces, broadening his perspective and further enhancing his skill set.

 

With his vast experience in mentoring, coaching, and leading teams, Charles Sasser has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the military community. His unwavering dedication, coupled with his extensive knowledge and expertise, continues to make a profound impact on the defense and security industry.
