This two-day class open to everyone, from new emergency managers learning about the industry to seasoned professionals looking for a good refresher. It will cover:
- Risk assessment: You will learn how to identify potential risks and hazards in a community or organization, and how to evaluate the likelihood and potential impact of different types of emergencies.
- Emergency planning: You will learn how to develop emergency response plans that consider the specific needs and resources of an organization or community, and that are designed to minimize the impact of an emergency.
- Communication: You will learn how to communicate effectively during an emergency, including how to coordinate with other emergency responders and how to disseminate information to the public.
- Resource management: You will learn how to manage resources during an emergency, including how to allocate personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively.
- Training and exercises: You will learn how to design and conduct emergency response training and exercises, including how to evaluate the effectiveness of these activities and identify areas for improvement.
- Recovery and mitigation: You will learn about recovery and mitigation strategies that can help an organization or community bounce back after an emergency, including how to restore infrastructure and services, and how to prevent or minimize the impact of future emergencies.
