Through Real-World Case analysis from both the government and NGO perspectives, the class will help the student gain an intimate understanding into Human-Technical-Environmental issues that threaten successful implementation of event crisis, COOP, and recovery management; understand the unspoken vulnerabilities in management practices that induce crimping effects; and identify lean-forward positioning techniques that have effectively saved projects facing unsurmountable odds but were too important to fail. The target audience includes professionals involved in direct program, project, crisis/COOP/recovery management responsibilities; those addressing issues prior to/during/post crisis; and people seeking greater operational effectiveness through a greater understanding of internal and external impacts to crisis management.
