Global Risk Data - What's Going On
Latest Score Updates - The lower the score, the higher the risk

Sudan - 2.83, decreased from 3.20
While the junta that took control of the country some months ago has consolidated power, it destroyed confidence in the economy putting it in freefall. Inflation is nearly out of control, prices are skyrocketing and there are significant shortages across the country in food, medical supplies and other basics
Economy: 1.83, down from 2.67
Lack of economic confidence means less investment and more informal savings. The supply shortages that usually accompany such a situation are becoming unbearable and general economic hopelessness has overtaken the country.
Democratization: 1.85, down from 2.67
Sudan wasn't a particularly free country, to begin with however the junta's power consultation has reached all aspects of society, far further than the previous governments have. Press freedoms are being curtailed as well as personal ones. There is no inking of any sort of election and protests have been quelled using a heavy hand.
